Dr. Norah Krol
Optometric Physician
Dr. Krol graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry with honors. She completed her externship at Fox Army Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. Her undergraduate degree in economics and French is from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Dr. Krol is married and has three grown sons and two daughters-in-law.
While in Optometry School, Dr. Krol traveled to Mexico and to Costa Rica with the Students in Optometric Service to Humanity to provide optometric care and eyewear to the underprivileged. She received an Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care from Vistakon. She is a volunteer provider of vision care for Florida Vision Quest.
Dr. Adam Anhalt
Optometric Physician
Adam A Anhalt, O.D. grew up in a Chicago suburb. He did his undergraduate work at Northeast Missouri State University and then attended Indiana University School of Optometry. After three years of active duty as an optometrist at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, he and his wife moved to Gainesville. Dr. Adam Anhalt has three grown children and now grandchildren.
He has been on numerous medical mission trips to countries including, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Chile, and the Dominican Republic.
He is a member of the Florida Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Angela Powers
Office Manager
ABO Certified Optician
Angela Powers A.B.O.C. was born in Daytona Beach, FL in 1978. She currently lives in Alachua, FL with her husband Josh, and son Andrew. One of Angela’s favorite past times and hobbies is taking care of her two adorable goats, Jeb and Apache. She volunteers annually for special needs children, most recently in the Night to Shine celebration through the Tim Tebow Foundation.
Angela started her career in the optical field at age of 17 in Gainesville, FL, giving her over 25 years of experience in opticianry. She also has experience in both optometric and ophthalmic offices. She has been with Gainesville Family Eyecare for nine years, and currently specializes in frame selection, contact lens wear, and outstanding customer service. Her extensive experience is welcomed and enjoyed in our local community daily. Come see her soon.
David Acevedo
Optometric Assistant
David Acevedo has been a valued member of Gainesville Family Eyecare since 2007, bringing more than 14 years of experience with the practice. After taking a brief hiatus to explore small-business ownership and travel, he returned with a renewed appreciation for serving patients and building lasting relationships at GFE. David is also a US Air-force veteran who proudly served during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
